clothing lustage
I have a confession to make. I really like clothes from General Pants Co. ... I really do.
I think they get a good mixture of the trends, oddity and casualness. The only problem is for people like me, who like the look of slightly odd looking clothes and runway style, buy their items then are too scared to wear them because they look slightly... odd. I recently got these super comfy high-waisted pants in denim blue cotton. These ones actually:
They look totally amazing on this model but with my slightly wide hips, they look a bit funny... But i love them so much that I'm sure I'll find a way around it! :S
I was browsing the General Pants website in my procrastination and thought I'd share with you some of the current items I'm lusting after...

Floral Tie Die Dress by Something Else
Button Waist Dress by Something Else
Runaway Black by Sabre Vision
Patch Coat by Don't Ask Amanda
Dome Motif Tank by Something Else
Skin Cher Sweat by Cheap Monday
Paris Destroy Tee by Stussy
Wild Thorn Knit Jumper by One Teaspoon
As you can tell, I like slouchy and comfy clothes but that doesn't mean you compromise taste for it! Some people manage to look effortless chic and gorgeous in the most comfortable of clothing. Not to say I can do it... I usually just look like a bum. Sigh. I will get there one day!! :D
Anyway, that's enough procrastination for me for one night... If anyone would like to buy me the above items please feel free to! :)
Until we meet again! xx.

carey mulligan inspired
as you all know, i've been needing a haircut for QUITE SOME TIME now... there's a part of me that still loves short hair but another that's craving for a bit of a change. my obsession with carey mulligan continues and i was just so thrilled to hear that she was awarded best dressed woman of 2010 by harper's bazaar magazine! go carey! she really is quite beautiful and her style is so classic chic! i've been eyeing her hairstyles for months, hoping that i could see a potential new 'me' in one of them. i think i may have found one. i first saw it about a month ago and thought 'hey, that looks really lovely...' but didn't think much about it. i'm about 80% settled now. it's nothing exciting... probably the most simple and classic cut i've had for years. it's following victoria beckham pob and ruby rose pixie cuts. i feel kind of weird settling on something that looks so simple and... well... AVERAGE, i guess to some degree. you get a bit used to standing out sometimes. especially when your hair has been distinguishing you from everyone else for the last handful of years. but i think this new cut (which i haven't even completely settled upon getting) looks super pretty on miss mulligan! so pretty to the point where it PERHAPS makes a somewhat ordinary cut look EXTRAordinary? (pardon the awful play on words... exhaustion hasn't quite left me left!)
so you actually know what i'm talking about, here are some pictures of carey:

shoe dreams
i have to admit that i love looking at shoes. i would've written 'buying' instead but the truth is that i rarely buy shoes, especially heels. i think they look so pretty but i just don't know when i'd wear them...
today i thought i'd share with you just two pairs that have caught my eye recently.
MIU MIU MOCCASIN MARY JANES
I came across these on the gary pepper vintage blog. They are simply amazing! Miu Miu have been consistently pumping out these all these gorgeously designed pumps!! MM shoes tend to have this patent shape to them that i think is so pretty! please buy them for me? :D
JEFFREY CAMPBELL LITAS
I saw these first on gary pepper then it popped up again on fashion toast. Since then, I've been seeing them pretty much every where on the net and now I want a pair! Apparently really comfy shoes. Hard to believe when you look at them. The posts I saw them on are here and here.
I hope everyone is having a lovely week! :)

sway sway baby, oh you're so audio...
what does that line even mean? silly short stack... tsk tsk.
(written 12/06)
HELLO!
this post is really random but i needed to kill a bit of time before i go get my hair cut. really liking something like this:

but it might be a bit too short for my round and chubby face. :(
i was on youtube and randomly came across short stack's song 'sway sway baby'. and i'll admit. i actually quite like it when guys wear skinny jeans... or slightly fitted jeans. AS LONG AS you have the right body for it. you have to be thin (but not lanky or stick like) and you have to be of like, normal-ish height. if you're too tall, you look stupid. if you're too short, you look stupid. the short stack guys look gross. *shudders*
WORLD CUP ANYONE!? i'm SO excited! i watched the RSA vs. MEX match last night and, even though i don't really know either team nor did i really care who won, it was still so good! can't wait to head up to fed square on monday morning to watch the socceroos play against the germans. sure, it may be unlikely that we'll win but who cares? although i'd say a team with a guy who's got an awesome lean body and ink like this can't possibly lose:

i shall also admit that i do like it when guys have ink. mmm...

totally forgot to post the last entry, hence why it's above. ><
i got my hair cut! it's uberly short on one side... pretty much shaved. attracted some odd looks while working today. LOL.
totally need to study right now! so i've like, blown off everyone. sorry if i've been a bitch and not talking to you, exam stress really does get the best of me.
really should be resting right now so that i can get up at 3am to go to fed square for the aussie opener. rather excited about it! even though kewell and bresciano aren't included in the first 11. slightly worrying. hrmmm.
i bumped into my past today. it was angela, the owner of my high school canteen. aka my second mum while i was there. she was looking for a new mattress with her husband, frank. they're two of the nicest people i've ever met in my life! i have no idea what i would've done without angela back in high school! some girls and i would always hang around the canteen after school and chat with her. she gave us free food too (ftw!)! but most importantly she always looked after me when i was upset, which was much too often. especially during VCE. it wasn't exactly infrequent that i'd show up there crying for one reason or another. study, stress, stupid teachers, leadership responsibilities... she'd always take me inside and make me eat and laugh to cheer me up. she always knew what to do! but i miss her hugs the most. it was so nice to get one from her today! it was a total blast from the past. i had to apologise for not seeing her since i finished yr12. i've been wanting to go back, but i don't think visiting settings of past glory would be a good thing for me right now. life's gone downhill a fair bit since i left that place of security... i'm scared of walking through the gates and just breaking down. i miss my former life.
but as much as i miss it, i know i shouldn't dwell on it. it's unhealthy mentally for me. i've been feeling the effects. i'm not as cheery anymore. it's really bad. and i've got nothing to distract myself from it.
bumping into angela made me feel a lot better even though i didn't have a d&m with her or anything. it was kind of like, the past saying hello. it hadn't forgotten about me and it'll always be there. i just have to find the strength and will to push forward.
xx.

vintage star
Hello all!
This is me procrastinating on any sort of actual work. :)
I thought I'd take on a lighter tone with this entry and discuss something a bit different. No, it's not the first addition to my food component of the blog; that'll hopefully be in by next weekend. I wanted to discuss a strange and uncharacteristically-me hobby of mine.
fashion blogs.
i have a total weakness for fashion blogs. i love reading them. and i am probably one of the last people in the world that is in anyway 'fashion forward'. i just find reading them really interesting!
it started off as just looking up interesting short hair styles for women because i like changing my hair a lot... but fashion blogs really are just so good to read. why? i wouldn't have a clue.
i stumbled across a new one today while looking up carey mulligan's short pixie crop (which is gorgeous!). it's written by a young lady named Karla Deras who has a wonderful sense of fashion. she mainly wears vintage clothing matched with some seriously hot (and expensive) shoes. i've never been more inspired to go vintage!
I thought i'd add some of her pictures on here... i just randomly chose these and for some random reason they all came out quite small? but there are heaps more on her blog (they're also larger images)!

This first one is majorly hot.

The grungeyness of this outfit is really really cool... I looked up that bag that she designed and it's $350. :/

I just adore this trench coat. I have to buy one soon...
i love this outfit! i have no idea when i could ever get away with wearing it but it's really pretty! and those shoes are hottt!i love the balance of shape in this one... the upper body is loose and wide while she's chosen a tighter fit on the bottom. i love those pants! i want them!!
but yeah. just thought i'd mix things up a bit! :)
her fashion blog is karlascloset.com and it's really worth the visit!
off to study. x
